Pros:

- If you are either a Black single or looking for a Black single, this would be the site for you.

Cons:
- Not many photo options
- No site assisted phone communication
- If you’re neither looking for a Black single nor a Black single yourself, this would not be the site for you.

Costs:
Free to sign up, create your account and begin receiving potential matches. Very cheap to sign up as a legitimate member with a sub $10 per month tag. Excellent value.

Account Setup:
Creating an account is simple process  involving 12 or so questions (ie “What is your gender?” What are your religious views?” etc., etc.) but you don’t want to stop there. You’ll want to fill out both the color-coordinated personality test that all Sparks Network sites support in addition to the blacksingles.com specific Compass match-up quiz. Both of these questionnaires are longer (100 questions+) so sit yourself down for the long haul and answer as fully as you can because they both work.

Photos:
Not a ton of photo options but you are allowed up to 4 non-explicit pics on your profile page. As is the case with most Sparks Network sites, Blacksingles.com is much more focused on matching you up than providing you with a digital stage to express yourself upon.

Search:
The search is quick, easy to operate and limited by the initial questionnaire. So if you feel like searching with filters like height, religious affiliation, weight, income, location and other stock bits of information, you can do so and expect instantaneous results.

Special Features:
You’ve got the color personality system, you’ve got the Compass questionnaire, then you’ve also got: a host of e-card options from birthday wishes to get well, a spotlight option which boosts your profile page to the top of the main home page for a short period of time and a few smile options designed for flirtatiously initiating connections. A lot of options on blacksingles.com keeps it exciting to experiment with.

Communication:
Like most sites, the only members who will ever actually get the opportunity to communicate with each other are the ones who pay for their membership. Those who do pay will gain access to email communications, IM chats and message boards. No site-chaperoned phone calls.

Support:
Far from the height of customer support in the online dating world, blacksingles.com does offer its members a Help email address and a toll free hotline should the FAQ page be insufficient in answering any concerns.

Our reviewer’s opinion:
Another strong Z-specific site from the Sparks Network. Blacksingles.com is a great place for Black singles to connect: it has a number of interesting and effective personality sorters and questionnaires, it has a decently sized membership base especially for people located in major US cities and it’s cheap.
