“How far will you go to find The One?” This is what JDate.com asks its many members, as they announce their upcoming Matchmaking Flight to New Zealand.

If you are Jewish and single – and have not been hit too hard by the recession, – this could be the trip of your lifetime: JDate has organized the perfect travel event for mingling with other singles while discovering the natural and cultural beauties of New Zealand. In their own words:

Welcome aboard to the Matchmaking Flight. This is your chance to be part of history, linking the great North American culture with the natural vibes of pure New Zealand. Fasten your seatbelt, enjoy the ride of parties and holiday activities as you take off to the other side of the world on your Amazing Journey to find The One.

The fun begins well before the trip, which is scheduled to depart from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on October 13. JDate has a specially designed website for the Matchmaking Flight where you can start making contact with fellow travelers and establishing some connections.

Those departing from LA are invited to the LAX Airport party, sponsored by Air New Zealand USA in the Airport Lounge. There will be 2 hours of fun and games so you can become acquainted with your traveling mates and start making plans for the trip.

The cost of the return flight starts at $780 (plus taxes, etc.) and includes the pre-flight party, in-flight entertainment and tickets to the matchmaking Ball in Auckland. The very long, overnight flight itself will be a party of sorts: “The flight will be buzzing with like minded folk, along with fun and games and a mystery celebrity host.”

After arriving on the morning of October 15, you will have a day to freshen up and take in the Auckland sights before the big mingling event: the Matchmaking Ball at the SKYCITY Grand, “a night of sophisticated fun for Kiwis and North Americans to meet up.” Get into your best duds and flirt the night away the New Zealand way while meeting and greeting single New Zealanders who will join in for the fun.

After this you are pretty much free to enjoy New Zealand’s charms (and those of your new friends), but JDate and Air New Zealand have arranged 3 different tour packages for those who prefer to have a program. These tour packages suit different tastes and dating styles: if you have found a sweetie on the flight or the ball, you may be interested in Matchmaking Romance, “a romantic self-drive adventure through some of the South Island’s most memorable destinations” and especially designed for two. Those with a passion for culture will enjoy Matchmaking Culture, a package tour that “will lead you through the country’s rich heritage and national treasures, both Maori and Pakeha.” And Matchmaking Adventure is designed for singles with a passion for excitement and extreme sports, and includes a bungee jump, luge rides, freefalls and rafting.
